Whimsical Wind Chimes

Whimsical Wind Chimes is an idea born out of a heart that misses home. On my farm back in Alabama, we have wind chimes on every porch and they ring consistently throughout the day. When thinking of this project, I knew I wanted a way to bring that small reminder of home to Berry with me. This project is a set of wind chimes made out of capiz shells and laser cut wood that chime according to the wind flow. Every time I hear these chimes, I am reminded of my home and my family which always makes me smile and keep going.
I began my project by individually laying out the Capiz shells in equal numbers, then I laced them onto string so they would hang properly. From here, I laser cut and stained the circular wood that holds all of the shells and beads. I was then able to attach it all together to produce chimes that flow with the wind.
